After an extensive search, a large parcel of land near the Hamilton Airport was identified. Situated in the Raynes Road precinct of the Titanium Park development, the Torpedo7 distribution centre has immediate access to Hamilton Airport. Further, it is centrally located as fifty percent of New Zealand’s population live within 140 kilometres of the Torpedo7 distribution centre, making it an ideal base for operations.

A predominantly black colour palette is an inherent part of the Torpedo7 branding. As such, the external appearance of the building was required to reflect this. To soften the impact of the building over 4,000m2 of the site has been landscaped.
The materials selection was a basic palette of precast and coloursteel. This provided cost efficiency in the coloursteel, while providing durability with the precast. Measures such as encasing external columns with concrete and providing a prestressed floor to remove saw cuts that would break up with the heavy forklift use were used.
