Infill housing often succumbs to pressure to sacrifice design quality in favour of higher development margins.  Manning Street presented an opportunity to strive for better design while still meeting financial parameters.  Eight town houses consisting of 180m2 over three levels each accommodate three bedrooms, a generous living area, and double garaging. These townhouses offer features expected in family homes, including a scullery and ensuite, while contributing much needed residential density to the city. To integrate the building into the existing residential context, we designed the gable form with an extruded profile, which ultimately served to give the apartments a distinctive identity.
