The Hamilton Gardens is an iconic attraction for Kirikiriroa and it is a privilege to have designed the new Arrival Centre for such a beloved destination.

Partnering with local mana whenua, cultural artists and the incredible team at the Hamilton Gardens, we believe the new entry precinct is a unique expression of Aotearoa architecture and reflects the identity and narrative of its place. Inspired by the palisade fencing of Te Parapara Garden and traditional Māori garden tools, our design blends crafted detailing with the warmth and familiarity of timber. This space creates a multi-directional, welcoming place that draws people in from the moment they arrive.

As the Hamilton Gardens continue to evolve, this revitalised arrival centre serves as a new visual marker and gateway to the themed gardens. Our hope is that this new civic space will continue welcoming many more generations to come.
